Sharon’s philanthropic journey began when she was eight years old and shaped by a pivotal lesson from her father — witnessing his selfless act of kindness toward a struggling tenant left a profound impact, instilling in Sharon the values of compassion and fairness that would guide her life. As she puts it, “in life, you can always make it more fair for others.” This guiding principle has become the cornerstone of her entrepreneurial and philanthropic pursuits.

Growing up in the culturally rich Bay Area further shaped Sharon’s outlook. Surrounded by innovation and a spirit of community, she found inspiration in the region’s diversity and dedication to social responsibility. This environment ignited her passion for connecting people and fostering collective action to address societal challenges.

Her husband’s entrepreneurial journey starting when he sold firecrackers in high school mirrors her own story of grit and ambition. That early hustle taught her invaluable lessons about market dynamics and perseverance — qualities that laid the foundation for their shared successes.

This year, Sharon takes on a new role as curator of our Lunar New Year chocolate flavors. Drawing from her cultural heritage and love for culinary artistry, she has selected flavors that honor tradition while offering a modern twist.
